 Craig
Zawada is Managing Director of WMCZ.
Born and raised in Shell Lake,
Saskatchewan, he attended the
College of Commerce at the
University of Saskatchewan. In
1985, Craig graduated with Distinction from Osgoode Hall Law School in Toronto.
He was admitted to the Law Society
of Alberta in 1986, and the
Saskatchewan Law Society in 1987.
Until his appointment as Managing
Director, Craig's law practice primarily
involved Intellectual Property Law,
including licensing, trade marks,
copyright and trade secret law. In
particular, Craig has extensive
experience with computer software
and hardware issues, as well as with
the agricultural biotechnology
sector.
Craig has a keen interest in
educational programs, and has spoken
to numerous professional and
community organizations. He is a
former sessional lecturer at the
University of Saskatchewan College
of Law on Intellectual Property Law.
Craig has been
recognized as one of Saskatchewan's
Men of Influence by Saskatchewan
Business Magazine. He is Chair of
the Saskatchewan Research Council,
a director of the
Saskatchewan Angel Investor Network
(SAINT)
and a former member of
the University of Saskatchewan
Senate.
Recently, Craig has
been given the opportunity to serve
on the judges' panel for the Ontario
Premier's Catalyst Awards for
Innovation. In 2008, Craig obtained
the Chartered Directors (C. Dir.)
designation from The Directors
College (a joint venture of McMaster
University and the Conference Board
of Canada). |
